Student Travel Support
Students at U.S. universities will be awarded support from USNC URSI for
travel to the 2010 National Radio Science Meeting, provided they meet the
following criteria:
- First author and presenter
of a paper at the 2010 National Radio Science Meeting to be held January 6-9,
2010 in Boulder, Colorado.
- Full-time student for a
graduate degree at a U.S. university.
- Submit a complete
application for travel support by the extended deadline of Firday, October 2, 2009.
- After the award has been
decided, sign a form and return the original to the National Academies
agreeing to the terms and conditions of the award.
This
award will be in the form of a fellowship grant award from the National
Academies (NAS) in Washington, DC. This award, in the amount of $600, is intended to defray travel
expenses to attend the 2010 National Radio Science Meeting to be held January 6-9,
2010 in Boulder, Colorado. The
following terms and conditions are applicable to this award:
- If traveling by air, each
awardee must comply with the Fly
America Act when making travel arrangements. Funds spent in violation of the Fly America Act as
determined by NAS are unallowable and may need to be repaid.
- All awardees must contact Ms. Lisa Bevell at lbevell@nas.edu immediately upon learning that he/she cannot
attend the meeting so that appropriate repayment arrangements can be made.
An
application for Student Travel Support must be filed at the time of abstract
submission and before the meeting’s abstract deadline of September 25, 2009.
